Your rights, Your life!
As gay men we have the right to be treated with the same respect as anyone else in any clinic. We should expect to have every confidence in the professionalism and sensitivity offered by workers at GUM clinics across Scotland.
If you feel you have been discriminated against by anyone in your contact with these agencies, you have every right to insist that another member of staff sees you. You also have the right to make a formal complaint to the organisation itself and to your local Health Board and your local Member of the Scottish Parliament.
All the clinics listed on our site promote equal opportunities policies.
Remember your sexual health is important.
-
Gay and bisexual men are still becoming infected with HIV.
-
Numbers of new infections are high.
-
About half of all gay and bisexual Scottish men who are HIV positive are unaware of it.
-
Despite advances in HIV treatment, there is still no cure for HIV.
Using a condom when we have sex is still the most effective way of stopping the virus.
